The Land Development Strategic Permitting team seeks a Program Manager, Land Development Tooling & AI Solutions to drive our project management capabilities. This role will drive the adoption, integration and optimization of tools including developing AI-powered solutions to increase team productivity and scale.

Key job responsibilities
• Serve as the Voice of the Customer and lead strategic direction for project management tools across Land Development, ensuring seamless integration and adoption

• Design and implement AI solutions to enhance productivity, automate workflows, and derive insights from project management data

• Drive cross-functional alignment with partner teams and shepherding approvals with engineering, legal, procurement, and security teams

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions, from concept to deployment, including prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and data quality standards

• Establish and maintain data quality standards and governance frameworks to support AI implementation

• Drive product development including research, requirements definition, technical specifications, and launch efforts while balancing speed-to-market with quality

• Evaluate business landscape and analyze existing tools to identify opportunities for innovation and inform product strategy

• Create and maintain product roadmaps for both traditional tools and AI solutions, ensuring clear communication across all teams

• Occasional domestic travel required for internal workshops and meetings.


A day in the life
A day in this role combines strategic program management with hands-on technical work. You'll collaborate with the Land Development team to understand their project management needs, enhance existing tools, develop AI solutions, and drive cross-functional alignment. Typical activities include leading tool optimization/integration initiatives, developing AI models, establishing data frameworks, shepherding support teams on implementation, and ensuring successful adoption across the organization. You'll balance immediate operational needs with long-term strategic improvements to scale our land development management capabilities.

- 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years experience with project management tools and platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Salesforce)
- 2+ years experience implementing and deploying AI/ML solutions in enterprise environments, including prompt engineering and LLM applications
- • 2+ years writing and maintaining code in at least one programming language- 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 2+ years of software development experience
- Experience with land development or permitting processes
- Knowledge of GIS and mapping technologies
- Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau, Quicksight)
- Experience with modern software development practices, including agile project management and deployment automation tools
- Experience with large-scale tool implementation and change management
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or relevant certifications (PMP, Agile)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
