Business Intelligence Engineer

Flow Traders is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam. Our Business Intelligence team, a strategic unit within the broader Flow Traders data department, is dedicated to the critical functions of data extraction, transformation, curation, normalization, and reporting. This position involves a blend of operational maintenance, ongoing enhancements based on industry best practices, and engaging in new project development initiatives.

Responsibilities include collaborating closely with Core Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, and key internal stakeholders to design and uphold robust data structures and models pivotal to Flow Traders' business operations. What you will do

• Integrate and consolidate data products within the central data warehouse to facilitate KPI generation
• Enhance and automate the reporting infrastructure to scale management reporting capabilities
• Ensure that performance metrics and insights are readily accessible to support decision-making processes
• Partner with various teams to assess potential data product integrations into the data warehouse
• Offer expert guidance on data architecture and design considerations to other teams
• Oversee the management of our Master Data Entities

What you need to succeed

• Min 3 years of experience in creating data products 
• Extensive proficiency with SQL is required
• Experience working experience with contemporary parallel processing analytical database systems
• Proficiency with modern ETL/ELT tools
• Proficiency in Python is required
• Familiarity with Power BI/Fabric, particularly in semantic modeling and data transformation
• Demonstrable experience in data modeling, curation, and normalization
• A strong inclination towards generalizing, systematizing, and automating processes
• An entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to drive innovative solutions
• Practical experience in handling financial reference data (in trading or clearing organizations) is highly advantageous
