What you’ll do

We are looking for a skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team and ensure the optimal performance, security, and reliability of our PostgreSQL database systems. As a PostgreSQL DBA, you will play a critical role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our database infrastructure to support our business operations and applications. Your expertise will be essential in designing and implementing database solutions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring data integrity and availability.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the success of our organization. Key responsibilities include database installation, configuration, and upgrades, as well as performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management. You will also be responsible for monitoring database health, identifying and resolving issues, and implementing best practices to ensure the stability and scalability of our database systems. Specifically, you will:

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems.
• Monitor database performance and optimize for efficiency and reliability.
• Implement and manage database backup and recovery processes.
• Ensure database security and compliance with organizational policies.
• Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database schemas.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
• Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations.
• Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.

What’s REQUIRED

You will collaborate closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality database services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to managing database environments. You will need:

• Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator for at least seven years.
• Strong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience with Postgres cloud offerings as AWS RDS and AWS Aurora.
• Proficiency in SQL and database scripting languages.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and management tools.
• Understanding database security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with SQL Server administration.

The annual base salary range for this role is $200,000-$250,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
