The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Training and Certification team is seeking a program manager with proven success in documenting and optimizing processes, managing a project schedule and budget, managing logistics for committee meetings, and maintaining detailed records. You will coordinate with members of the Exam Development team to understand exam development needs. You’ll be responsible for interfacing with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to manage assignments and coordinate event logistics to support exam development.
Successful candidates will have familiarity with exam or content development processes, be detail driven, and have excellent problem-solving and communication skills. You will creatively seek out and embrace forward-looking approaches that hone efficiency and maintain or enhance quality while maintaining valid, reliable, fair, and relevant certifications that support the AWS platform. You will be comfortable communicating and coordinating with members of multiple teams, assigning tasks to internal and external SMEs, and following up with stakeholders to ensure that tasks are completed and documented.
Key job responsibilities
•Coordinate the scheduling and logistics for exam development workshops: Job task analysis, item writing/review, and standard setting.
•Recruit and collaborate with subject matter experts.
•Track item development progress through the workflow and coordinate handoffs.
•Maintain SME and item banking databases accurately.
•Award SME incentives.
•Create and implement new processes and incentives to enhance SME engagement and retention.
•This position may require up to 20% travel, both domestic and international.

- Experience in a highly analytical, results-oriented environment with cross functional interactions
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
- 2+ years of experience in exam development or comparable education- 2+ years of experience driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
- 2+ years of experience driving process improvements
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
