Investment Operations Analyst

The Role  

We are seeking a highly motivated Investment Operations Analyst in New York to join the Trading and Execution COO team. This person will be comfortable working both independently as well as liaising across multiple teams within the organization. A successful candidate will have a passion for deriving insights from large datasets, building relationships with our sell-side partners, and designing reporting suites to help manage the Firm’s top strategic relationships.

What you’ll do 

As an Investment Operations Analyst, you will work alongside the Trading & Execution COO team to help manage and maintain the global commission wallet, sell-side resourcing and broker vote data, and broker onboarding data. This is a highly analytical role involving the preparation of both internal and external reporting used to manage the Firm’s strategic relationships with its sell-side partners. The role will also require a high level of professionalism and presentation skills, as you will be responsible for participating in and facilitating key internal and external meetings with senior stakeholders.   

Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the negotiation of commission rates upon entering new markets, onboarding new brokers, and trading new products
• Designing and maintaining a suite of reports for strategy leadership teams and trading desk
• Preparing materials for and participating in cadenced business reviews with sell-side partners
• Helping design and build a global database of commission rates for each strategy, broker, market, and product traded
• Communicating with and building relationships with sell side coverage teams to understand market trends and competitive landscape
• Working alongside Legal and Operations teams to paper trading documents
• Creating materials for and participating in Brokerage Committee meetings

What you’ll bring

What you need:

• A Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field
• A strong work ethic and desire to evolve into an external facing business manager
• 1-3 years of experience working in financial services
• Ability to use data to deliver concise and actionable insights
• Proficiency in Excel and SQL
• Proficiency with dashboard creation tools
• Intellectually curious, goal-oriented and process-driven with strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form

The annual base pay for this role is expected to be between $130,000 and $160,000 which will be prorated based on internship start and end date. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications and experience and level of education.
