About the Role

At Future, we’re on a mission to make personal training accessible to everyone. As the largest provider of personal training in the U.S., we’re shaping the future of fitness with cutting-edge technology.

As a Future Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to directly influence the way people achieve their health and fitness goals, working at the heart of our mission. You’ll play a critical role in advancing the core of our fitness app by developing and deploying machine learning systems that drive personalized experiences for our clients. Working alongside one of our founders and a talented, integrated product and engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to be at the forefront of machine learning innovation in fitness.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-moving field, loves to build, and is excited to work on challenging problems that deliver real-world impact.

You will:

  • Research and apply state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to projects that enhance our client and coach experiences.
  • Develop and train machine learning models in Python using modern machine learning frameworks and approaches.
  • Design and create data sets from in-house data to support training and evaluation of machine learning models.
  • Build, test, and deploy generative and predictive models that directly impact our products.
  • Clearly articulate the design, implementation, and decision-making process behind your work.
  • Maintain and monitor deployed systems, troubleshooting issues and improving performance as needed.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate machine learning solutions into Future’s products

You have: 

  • Experience building, training, and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one modern machine learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, MLX, TensorFlow, Keras).
  • A proven track record of shipping machine learning-powered products, with the ability to explain your specific contributions and the reasoning behind your technical decisions.
  • A passion for learning, innovating, and staying on the cutting edge of the rapidly evolving machine learning field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think clearly and critically while building practical solutions.
  • The ability to communicate your work effectively, both technically and conceptually, to cross-functional team members.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.

Compensation, Benefits & Life at Future:

  • Salary range: $166,000 - 240,000 / year + equity. The salary range is set based on multiple considerations including business needs, market demands, talent availability, experience, and unique skills and attributes. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
