We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Improvement Engineer to launch our Artificial General Intelligence – Data Services Operations (AGI DS Ops) Process Improvement Team.

Amazon is seeking a Senior Process Improvement Engineer to lead the launch of our new Amazon AGI-DS Operations Process Improvement Team. In this founding leadership role, you will be responsible for building and scaling a team that will relentlessly drive continuous improvement initiatives across our World-Wide network while preserving best-in-class quality for the products (data) we deliver to our customers. The role can be based out of any AGI-DS site in EU/UK. This team is essential to establish best in class network performance. As we continue to rapidly grow our AGI footprint and infuse the organization with new talent, we need to ensure the operations teams are equipped with the functional expertise to successfully deliver efficiency at scale.
As a Senior Process Improvement Engineer, you will have the opportunity to launch and lead a team of Process Improvement Engineers. You will work closely with key teams shaping the industry of Generative AI such as – but not limited to - AGI-DS Operations, Quality, Customer Program Management, Tech, Finance, Science. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities across the network, leading large-scale changes at network level, partnering with the AGI site leaders and other network stakeholders to drive improvement. This role requires high level of critical thinking, judgement and ownership, the ability to demonstrate ownership for your assigned responsibility, interpret data, and lead through influence to deliver meaningful results translating to tangible productivity and efficiency gains across the AGI-DS World-Wide network.
A day in the life
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead and evaluate performance objectives and metrics across the network (1P and 3P) to proactively identify process improvement opportunities
• Manage and develop a team of process improvement engineers, including hiring, coaching, and career development
• Partner with operational leaders within AGI-DS sites to implement process improvements driving stabilization and standardization
• Serve as primary subject matter expert for the team and network of operational leaders
• Successfully manage, execute, measure and communicate project impact in partnership with site leaders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive capability development projects
• Mentor, train, and develop process improvement engineers for career progression and performance improvement
• Drive network-wide process standardization and best practice implementation
• Organize weekly and monthly business reviews on performance metrics, project implementation, and improvement initiatives
• Ensure timely execution and compliance with network standards
• Document and share implementation learnings and business reviews through crisp writing in line with the high Amazon standards
• MSc degree in Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing, or related technical field
• 7+ years of experience in process improvement, operations, or technical environments
• 5+ years of people management experience, including hiring and developing technical teams
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale process improvement initiatives
• Experience managing cross-functional technical projects
• Native-proficiency fluency in verbal and written English
• Strong data analysis and process optimization expertise
• Lean Six Sigma Black belt certification
• Availability to travel between 25% and 50% of the time
• Business acumen, critical thinking, high judgment
• Ability to influence others without authority
• PhD degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related field
• Demonstrated experience applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to technical operations or data processing environments
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment when dealing with conflicting goals
• Ability to Deep Dive and develop innovative ideas for process challenges
• Understanding of AI/ML operations
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in AI operations or data services
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills as well as good business judgment
• Cross-functional project management experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with process mapping and workflow optimization
