About the role

We’re looking for a Strategic Engagement Manager to strengthen and continue developing Duolingo’s relationships with colleges and universities in Western Canada!

You will be promoting the use of our English proficiency test as a full parity alternative to the IELTS, PTE, and TOEFL for international applicants. You will build new relationships as well as sustain and grow those already established. The role will be focussed on growing our number of accepting institutions and building innovative initiatives and partnerships to promote awareness and usage of Duolingo English Test.

We are interested in candidates with experience in international admissions, who have an established network with Canadian higher education institutions, and an outstanding track record for producing results.

  You will...

• Drive adoption of the Duolingo English Test in the admissions process at Canadian colleges, universities, and select training institutes.
• Find, contact, and develop opportunities to turn them into accepting institutions.
• Assess institutions’ needs, and provide assistance and information on product features.
• Build and maintain relationships with higher education partners, local government,t and industry sector groups.
• Collaborate with our marketing team to implement a regional marketing strategy.
• Represent the Duolingo English Test at high-profile conferences and events.

  You have...

• Extensive expertise: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience working in international admissions and/or English language testing.
• Strategic influence: strong network with Canadian higher education admissions and recruitment.
• Business impact: A track record of driving measurable business growth.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills.
• An ability to excel in cross-functional environments and influence at all levels.

 Requirements...

• Bachelor's degree
• Based in western Canada
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally

  Exceptional candidates will have...

• Master’s degree would be an asset
• Experience with an education technology company
• Experience working with provincial governments and associations
