Job Category

We are looking for an exceptionally, intelligent, talented, and data-driven professional to join our team as a Product Manager for our Insurance Rating Platform (QRP). He/she will work closely with multiple internal teams to gather information and deliver a superior product experience for our agency partners while improving ease of doing business with us. This is a highly visible job with immense growth potential.

As a Product Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to participate in the product strategy, design, and delivery for a cutting-edge insurance comparative rating quote to bind platform. Successful candidates will combine analytical skills with strong user experience design skills and instincts. They will balance a bias to action with a thoughtfulness that underpins good decisions. They will build consensus, but not at the expense of speedy decision-making and execution.

 

Responsibilities

  • As the product manager for our insurance rating platform, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to position our product for profitable growth.
  • You will conduct market research to understand customer needs and competitors’ offerings and use the research to define new features for our rating platform.
  • You will create coverage mapping requirements for auto and home insurance and work closely with Engineering team to make sure that they understand the requirements. Coverage mapping maps out the coverage offered by our insurance partners to the coverage supported by our insurance rating platform.
  • Identify use cases to drive new features and functionality, collaborating with cross-enterprise teams to ensure successful launch, user adoption, and realization of client and business values.
  • Work cross-functionally internally and externally with Engineering, Sales, Account Management and Data Reporting to define and deliver product requirements and issue managements.
  • Complete work within established time and show sense of urgency for completion.
  • Manage backlog and write user stories for new development and bug fixes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or in a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of product management experience with an insurance company or Insurtech with extensive experience in auto and home insurance.
  • Effectively manages ambiguity and can refine fuzzy ideas into concrete requirements, specific use cases or solutions for customer pain points.
  • Experience in working directly with engineers, designers, and data analysts
  • A positive can-do attitude with a growth mindset.
  • Excels in a fast-paced complex working environment.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentation techniques.
  • Data analysis skills, with the ability to make data-driven business decisions quickly
  • Understanding of application architectures, databases, SQL, JSON, REST APIs, etc. (huge plus!)
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau for data analytics. (huge plus!)

The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 USD to $145,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices. The salary may be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The position is also eligible to receive performance bonus or commission and equity in the form of restricted stock units. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s standard employee benefits programs, which currently include health care benefits; (2) retirement benefits; (3) the amount of paid days off (paid sick leave, parental leave, paid time off, or vacation benefits); (4) any other tax-reportable benefits.
