The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter. By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic’s complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI.

What Is The Role

Elastic’s Professional Services team is at the forefront of helping customers derive maximum value from our solutions. As organizations increasingly rely on Elastic to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize their systems and applications, our Practice Leaders play a vital role in scaling our ability to deliver expert consulting services that drive outcomes.

We are seeking a Practice Leader with a specific focus on Elastic Observability. This leader will drive the growth and maturity of our Observability practice by building and managing a high-performing team of consultants. These professionals partner with customers to design, implement, and optimize Elastic’s Observability capabilities—encompassing metrics, logs, traces, and uptime monitoring—within diverse technical environments.

You will be responsible for delivering business value through Elastic’s Observability solutions while fostering innovation, developing repeatable delivery practices, and ensuring customer success. The primary measurements of success for this role are year-over-year services revenue growth, attainment of utilization targets, and consistently high customer satisfaction.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Complete Elastic training and internalize Elastic’s outcome-based services sales and delivery methodology specific to Observability.
  • Lead and grow the Observability-focused consulting team—responsible for coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor for Elastic Observability solutions, ensuring your team delivers high-impact engagements in system monitoring, root cause analysis, SRE enablement, and beyond.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for the Observability practice, including go-to-market alignment, delivery readiness, and consultant enablement.
  • Drive the development of Observability-specific assets, delivery standards, and methodologies to support repeatable and scalable customer engagements.
  • Partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering to provide feedback loops and improve solution offerings and delivery alignment.
  • Contribute to strategic hiring plans to expand Observability consulting capabilities in anticipation of customer demand and emerging technologies.
  • Monitor practice performance metrics (utilization, CSAT, revenue) and make data-informed decisions to improve outcomes.
  • Ensure practice alignment with global delivery standards while tailoring approaches to the nuances of Observability projects.
  • Collaborate with peers across regions and disciplines to align delivery resources and best practices.

What You Will Bring

  • 8+ years of consulting leadership experience, ideally within cloud-native, DevOps, or Observability-focused practices
  • 4+ years of direct consulting experience with monitoring, APM, logging, or observability tools (e.g., Elastic, Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, Prometheus/Grafana)
  • Proven success in building and scaling high-performing consulting teams
  • Expertise in modern observability architecture (OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, metrics/log ingestion pipelines)
  • Strong customer-facing skills with a focus on value delivery and stakeholder alignment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and team development in fast-growth environments
  • Professional Services Automation (PSA) experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA a plus
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a passion for leading teams
  • Leadership Qualities
    • PASSION: Deep commitment to customer success and observability excellence
    • BEGINNER’S MIND: Curious, humble, and eager to stay on the cutting edge of observability trends
    • THOUGHT LEADER: Brings a clear POV and technical credibility when engaging executives and engineering teams
    • URGENCY: Moves quickly to solve problems and meet customer needs
    • TEAM PLAYER: Builds trust and camaraderie across functions and with customers
    • TRUST: Models Elastic’s core values and inspires confidence
