We are seeking a Member of Technical Staff - Engineering Manager to lead high-performing engineering teams in delivering robust, scalable, and secure software solutions. You will be driving the development of capabilities for our Copilot product. You will model strong leadership, guide the architectural and technical direction of the product, and foster a collaborative, growth-oriented engineering culture. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering practices, people leadership, user-focused design, and operational excellence. In addition, hands-on coding and technical contribution will be a key part of your leadership, including writing and reviewing production-level code.

Responsibilities
  • Hire, manage, and lead a team of software engineers responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and scalable products
  • Ship AI powered experiences that will shape how millions of people will interact with AI in the future 
  • Collaborate with Eng, Design and Product leadership to prioritize features and deliver a world-class AI companion to the world 
  • Write and review code, ensuring quality, maintainability, and performance, while also setting high standards for engineering excellence across the team.
  • Guide architecture and design efforts by leading discussions, creating proposals and design documents, and ensuring solutions meet business, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Build and maintain testing strategies, ensuring comprehensive coverage, effective automation, and scalable test frameworks that support continuous integration and deployment.
  • Drive implementation of features and systems, breaking down long-term goals into clear milestones, aligning with release plans, and ensuring cross-team coordination.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C , C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
  • OR equivalent experience. 
  • 3 years of people manager experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C , C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C , C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
  • OR equivalent experience. 
  • 4 years people management experience

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.  Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
