The Non-Live/Production Workflow Support Engineer will be part of a dynamic team supporting dedicated Broadcast, OTT and VOD solutions for DAZN’s global sports streaming platform. Reporting to the Post Engineering Manager you will work closely with our engineering teams including Senior Workflow Integration Engineers, Project Engineers and System Administrators.
 
The department in which this role is located is responsible for defining all postproduction file based workflows from ingest through to global distribution. Operating in a 24/7 broadcast environment, the postproduction engineering team are responsible for support and maintenance of post-production and VOD platforms including live ingest, file orchestration, transcode and archive.
 
The role is well suited to postproduction support engineers, broadcast IT support engineers or transcode specialists looking to build their skills and experience across broadcast, OTT and cloud-based infrastructure. 
 
Candidates should be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of transcode and file-based distribution systems; a working knowledge of video codecs and experience with workflow engines is required; knowledge of MAM platforms and postproduction workflows are essential. You will also have the opportunity to assist where required with system installations and testing, provide training and support documentation to engineering and production teams.

HERE’S A BREAKDOWN OF WHAT YOU’LL DO (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)
 
·       Provide first and second line engineering support for post workflows to regional teams
·       Escalate issues in a timely manner to internal support teams and third-party suppliers where required
·       Provide technical support to production teams during live sporting events
·       Perform regular monitoring and maintenance including periodic review of key systems and workflows
·       Provide technical training to production and support teams
·       Update operational documentation and training resources
·       Assist with platform upgrades and project delivery testing working closely with project and workflow engineering teams
                                                       
DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?
 
·       Experience with postproduction workflows with a keen interest in problem solving technical issues
·       Excellent knowledge of MAM platforms, NLE’s and associated technologies
·       Experience with transcode and distribution platforms; AWS Elemental, Vantage, Dalet, Content Agent, Aspera
·       Confident with Windows and Linux operating systems
·       Understanding and proficiency to analyse video and audio codecs
·       Experience with monitoring systems including Dataminer, Nagios
·       Excellent communication skills to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships
·       Problem solver, adaptable working approach and self-motivated team player
·       A passion for broadcast technology, postproduction, VOD/OTT
                                                                                                                      
NOT ESSENTIAL BUT GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE
 
·       Knowledge and experience of AWS (or other cloud service providers)
·       Experience with remote and cloud-based workflows
·       Knowledge of shared storage systems and archive HSM
·       Understanding of networking principals
·       Knowledge of windows domain and active directory an advantage
·       Knowledge of IP transport streams
·       Experience with scripting languages
·       Familiar with ITIL and agile process management
