Job Description

On-site
Are you passionate about using innovative simulation technology to solve complex manufacturing challenges? Join our world-class 3D Simulation Team where you'll leverage advanced 3D modeling tools to revolutionize how we design, validate, and optimize Amazon Robotic's manufacturing operations.

In this role, you'll create high-fidelity virtual environments that mirror real-world operations using plant simulation and process simulation software. Through detailed discrete-event modeling, you'll analyze production capacity, optimize facility layouts, and validate material flows to drive plant-level decisions that enhance operational efficiency. You'll conduct virtual builds, validate assembly processes, and perform ergonomic assessments to help us design and establish robust manufacturing processes. These capabilities help transform how we approach manufacturing challenges - dramatically reducing risks and costs while maximizing productivity.

This position offers unique opportunities to impact multiple facets of manufacturing innovation. You'll collaborate with process engineers, design teams, and operations partners to deliver simulation solutions that drive operational improvements and influence product and process design decisions. If you're excited about combining technical expertise with practical problem-solving to shape the next generation of manufacturing processes, we want to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities
- Create and validate high-fidelity 3D models using plant simulation software to analyze production capacity, optimize facility layouts, and improve material flows
- Develop detailed process simulations to verify assembly sequences, validate ergonomics, and identify potential design for assembly issues before physical implementation
- Conduct comprehensive simulation studies to evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes, including tool clash analysis and cable routing validation
- Partner with process engineering teams to validate new production processes and layout changes through virtual modeling
- Perform scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to support operational improvement initiatives and contingency planning
- Generate data-driven recommendations through simulation outputs to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce implementation risks
- Develop and maintain simulation best practices, templates, and standard work to improve team productivity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and present simulation findings that drive decision-making
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance simulation capabilities
- Foster a culture of inclusion and knowledge sharing across the organization

About the team
The 3D Simulation Team, as part of the broader Process Engineering organization, leverages innovative 3D modeling capabilities to validate and optimize manufacturing decisions before physical implementation. While the Process Engineering Team focuses on developing assembly processes, providing DFA feedback, writing work instructions, and managing tools and equipment for our AR factories, our simulation team complements these efforts through advanced plant and process simulation. We deliver a wide range of solutions - from conducting virtual builds and ergonomic assessments to performing capacity analyses and production layout optimization. This integration of simulation capabilities within process engineering ensures we can effectively evaluate, implement, and continuously improve our manufacturing operations while reducing implementation risks and enhancing operational efficiency across our facilities.- 3+ years of working in simulation engineering or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- Experience with simulation software in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets
- Proficiency in creating technical documentation and presenting results
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and production systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities- Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Tecnomatix Plant Simulation or similar discrete event simulation software
- Experience with Process Simulate or similar 3D manufacturing simulation tools
- Knowledge of robotics manufacturing processes and automation systems
- Experience with ergonomic analysis and safety validation
- Proficiency in programming languages (Python, C++, or similar)
- Experience with CAD software and 3D modeling tools
- Background in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with virtual commissioning or digital twin implementations
- Track record of successful project delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
