The role 

We are on an ambitious journey to create a cutting-edge team from the ground up, pioneering the first generation of verification and validation (V&V) infrastructure for next-generation automotive systems. This includes developing advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems, sensor emulation, and complete vehicle system integration test automation. If you're passionate about shaping the future of system testing and automation, this is your opportunity to lead and innovate. What you will do:

  • Design and Build: Lead the development of our test automation infrastructure, HILs and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring scalability and reliability for Verification and Validation (V&V).
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work hand-in-hand with Software and Hardware teams to integrate their testing processes into the pipelines, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Develop Tools and Metrics: Implement internal tools and integrate external solutions to create comprehensive reports, dashboards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and ensure progress.
  • Educate and Empower: Provide training and mentorship to cross-functional teams, including Software, Hardware, and IT, empowering them to leverage the infrastructure effectively.
  • Drive Integration: Establish seamless interfaces between Software, Hardware, and Test Engineering teams, ensuring a streamlined development and release process.
  • Be a Leader: Directly manage and inspire a team of system verification and test automation engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

About you  

As a key leader, you'll drive the design and implementation of our CI/CD pipelines with integrated test automation, ensuring seamless collaboration between software and hardware teams. From defining system verification architecture to leading a high-performing team of V&V engineers, your impact will be felt across product releases, customer satisfaction, and organizational success.

Essential:

  • Experience: 10+ years in Verification & Validation, CI/CD development, or related fields, with a strong focus on automotive systems or embedded environments.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven expertise in building scalable V&V architectures and managing hardware/software integrations.
  • Leadership: Experience in managing teams, driving accountability, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to anticipate challenges and develop creative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative Approach: Skilled at building bridges between software, hardware, and IT teams to ensure alignment and success.

Desirable 

  • Automotive Industry Expertise: Familiarity with automotive software development requirements and standards, such as ASPICE ,ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 (SOTIF) , with automotive HIL SW and HW products e.g. from Vector and dSPACE and with automotive SW architecture such as AUTOSAR
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or Master’s degree.

This is a full-time role based in our office in Sunnyvale.  At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home.
