What you’ll do

You will have complete ownership and accountability for executing annual hiring plans for our business in Japan. This will cover all levels of hiring from entry level to leadership and all business and corporate functions that are represented in Japan.

You will have regular exposure to our Japan Country Manager and leadership teams not only in Japan but also across the Asia Pacific region, and have the freedom to decide how best to execute with excellence on annual hiring plans. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in projects and other initiatives that evolve and improve the way we do things at Okta.

Key Accountabilities

  • Independently develop annual hiring plans which will include defining the value proposition of Okta Japan and its roles to the market, aligning sourcing strategies and creating processes to execute on assessment and hiring with excellence
  • Engage the Japan talent market as an ambassador for Okta
  • Execute the end to end hiring process with excellence with a primary focus on creating consumer grade experiences for everyone you interact with
  • Provide data driven insights and proactive recommendations to your business stakeholders and talent acquisition leadership to continually evolve how we attract and hire talent
  • Proactively participate in projects that add value to the business, the global talent acquisition function and our broader People Team
  • Coach and guide other members of the talent acquisition team

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A strong alignment to and demonstration of our values: Love Our Customers, Always Secure Always On, Build and Own It, Drive What’s Next
  • The equivalent of 6+ years of experience in talent acquisition with a track record of hiring a diverse range of talent that includes Sales, Sales Development, Presales, Marketing, Corporate Functions, etc…
  • A strong understanding of market trends and the most effective ways of reaching, engaging and attracting talent in Japan
  • An understanding of the business ecosystem around hiring and experience partnering with business leaders, HR, finance and operations teams to execute hiring plans with excellence
  • Demonstrated experience in using data to inform hiring strategies, identify improvement opportunities and influence executive stakeholders
  • Native level Japanese language capability and business level English proficiency

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following! 

  • Experience incorporating the ethical use of Generative AI in Talent Acquisition
  • Experience within the Cybersecurity, Identity Management or Enterprise SaaS space
  • Program/Project management experience delivering initiatives outside of direct hiring
