Job Description

The Lead Platform Support Engineer  is responsible for overseeing the management, administration, maintenance and optimization of the company's ERP systems.  Administration may include implementation of new application,  incident support, report creation, security and deploying release updates. This individual in this position will ensure proper documentation of processes, procedures, system configuration and troubleshooting tips. This position will also assist or manage in the implementation of approved new projects. This may include but not limited to project management, requirements management and test case documentation. This role involves collaboration with various departments and vendors in ensuring the ERP system supports the organization's goals and objectives.  This position is responsible for managing third party vendors providing platform enhancements and technical support services including platform hosting. Duties include but are not limited to the planning and management of platform enhancements and maintenance including infrastructure, release management, change management and functional support.   

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Management and oversight of all aspects of ERP implementation projects
  2. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide solutions
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to other platform engineers/administrators
  4. Development and maintenance of project plans and schedules
  5. Identification and mitigation of potential risks and issues
  6. Ensure timely delivery of project milestones
  7. Follow the change management process including maintaining CMRs, approval of changes and test coordination. Research, test, and document potential impact of changes. Responsible for project budget and resource management
  8. Regularly communicate project status to stakeholders
  9. Day to day management of relationship with vendors contracted to provide (but not exclusive to) basis work, platform hosting, monitoring, functional support and ensuring service level agreements are met.
  10. Monitoring System Health including Infrastructure and application health.
  11. Evaluate and improve platform performance to enhance business processes and efficiency.
  12. Work closely with other departments to understand their needs and ensure the platform meets business requirements.
  13. Ensure platform complies with all relevant regulations and standards along with ensuring Auditing vendors have the tools/access to pull required data or extracts on a continuous basis.
  14. Facilitate quarterly User Account Reviews with Business leads and ensuring these are done in a timely manner.
  15. Coordinating quarterly platform patching.
  16. Resolve and escalate issues as required.
  17. Provide regular updates to business leads on ERP system performance, project status and IT Initiatives.
  18. Act as Administrator for the Support Portals including the adding new employees, obtaining object keys and developer keys.  Also includes escalating of incident  support.

Competencies/ Critical Skills:

  1. Experienced in managing large-scale projects demonstration strong project management skills
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.  
  4. Knowledge of ERP systems and how they interact with each other and upstream systems.
  5. Ability to analyze complex business processes and develop effective solutions.
  6. Ensuring seamless communication and data exchange between different systems.
  7. Understanding the basics of financial accounting for enhancements to Finance Accounting and reporting.
  8. Prior experience with SAP ECC6, SAP Portal, Process Integration (PI) and Supplier Relationship Management (SRP), OpenText preferred.
  9. Basic knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office (O365) products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Teams required.
  10. Prior Jira experience a plus. 

Experience and Qualifications:

 Required:

  • Two-year college degree or equivalent experience (5-7 years) and be able to lead business process discovery and process development projects.
  • Possess strong organizational, team and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Experience with information technology service management and delivery processes.
  • 5-7 years related job experience

Preferred:

  • Four-year college degree.
  • Experience with the Agile requirement gathering a delivery processes.
