Lyft is looking for an experienced Senior Federal Policy Manager to join our US Federal Policy team based in Washington DC. This individual will engage in strategy development and advocacy on a range of technology, transportation, and worker classification issues. This position will require some travel and evening availability and report to the Senior Director of Federal and International Policy.
Responsibilities:
- Develop engagement strategies with federal legislators, agency staff, and administration officials to advance Lyft policy priorities including future of work and autonomous vehicle technology
- Inform company leadership and lines of business on relevant political, legislative, and regulatory developments
- Maintain relationships with industry trade associations, third party stakeholders, and relevant coalitions to advance policy priorities
- Track and respond to congressional inquiries and administration requests on internal Lyft products and policies
- Represent Lyft in political activities, promoting the company’s interests and priorities
- Manage federal consultants to coordinate advocacy efforts and messaging Draft memos for executive leadership and staff the CEO, Chief Policy Officer, and other company C-suite executives to meet with federal stakeholders
- Identify and manage third party relationships that intersect with policy priorities
Experience
-
- 7+ years of federal government or federal government affairs experience here in Washington, including meaningful congressional experience
- Established relationships on Capitol Hill including with key Republican members and within key committees of jurisdiction: Transportation and Infrastructure, Commerce, Education & the Workforce, HELP, Ways & Means, Finance, Veterans Affairs, and Appropriations
- Knowledge of the federal legislative and regulatory process
- Superior organizational skills and track record of cross-functional callaboration
- Natural connector and relationship builder
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Law or Masters degree preferred
- Private sector tech experience preferred

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
The expected base pay range for this position in the Washington, D.C. area is $169,000 - $211,250. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
