The ideal candidate will possess the ability to assist in the design, development, and deployment of innovative solutions to address operational challenges. This role requires both independent contribution as well as the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team. The scope of projects will include but is not limited to the improvement of electrical, mechanical, fire detection, structural, and building automation systems through NDT efforts and innovations. A fundamental understanding of these systems is required, as the individual will be expected to identify areas for improvement as well as act on data provided from other teams and organizations.

As a NDT Engineer, you are expected to support projects from conception to completion. Projects will involve independent work and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. In the NDT Engineer role, you are expected to delight the customer by building trust, delivering on key milestones, and acting as a good steward by overseeing the procurement and upkeep of fleet vehicles, equipment, and tools.


Key job responsibilities
* Apply nondestructive testing techniques to install, maintain, and troubleshoot all data center critical systems including: power distribution, mechanical, plumbing, building automation, and structural.
* Act as an ambassador for safety for the team and site
* Remain cognizant of and act in compliance with all security protocols
* Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers and management on a daily basis
* Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow up
* Execute predictive and preventive maintenance programs
* Document detailed reports of all defects and inspections performed.
* Ability to interpret data and create qualitative and quantitative analysis
* Accurately record time, mileage, and travel related expenses
* Expected to provide cross-functional support within the services team
* Engaging with external vendors

Physical Requirements:
Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in the following physical conditions with reasonable accommodations-

* Wear all required and provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) within a Data Center Environment.
* Walk job sites in uneven terrain.
* Work at heights and from ladders.
* Work in a industrial environment.
* Must be able to pass acuity test and a color contrast differentiation exam.

AWS is growing rapidly and we are seeking a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) engineer to join the Operations Services team. The team maintains critical equipment in support of providing best in class availability for our data center customers. The NDT Engineer will work closely with both internal customers, external vendors as well as coordinate regional resources to facilitate smooth work execution. You will perform and support nondestructive testing operations of data center critical systems, to include power distribution, mechanical, plumbing, building automation, structural, and other equipment that supports the critical operation.

To be successful in this role you should be highly autonomous, detail oriented, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, strong computer literacy, and have significant experience in supporting critical infrastructure. You will design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges. This role will showcase your independent contribution as well as offer the opportunity to work within multi-disciplinary teams. * Bachelor’s Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) Degree or High School Diploma/GED
* 2+ years of relevant technician work experience in a critical environment (example: hospital, manufacturing, petrol/chemical, military facility, public safety facility, etc.)
* Candidate must meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to drive a company service vehicle or personal vehicle , including but not limited to: must have a valid driver's license issued by the state in which they reside. * Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Material Science.
* 2+ years of Nondestructive Testing Experience/Possess a NDT Certification (ASNT, PCN, NAS-410, ISO, etc.)
* Team lead experience supporting data center operations environment
* Knowledge of thermodynamics, electromagnetism, acoustic emission and ultrasonics
* Sound understanding of electrical best practices, processes and tools
