Join the Edge Services team as a DevOps Manager, where you’ll lead a globally distributed team of engineers. You will play a crucial role in leading scalable, high-performance systems, including Content Delivery Networks (CDN), Domain Name Systems (DNS), and load balancing and proxying solutions, which support Apple’s critical global services. In this role, you will lead all aspects of key infrastructure operations such as service uptime, implementations, and deployments. You will partner closely with engineering, network, and services teams to define and implement infrastructure strategies that improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency. Coordinating efforts across teams and running resources efficiently, you will drive the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. A significant focus of this role is on leadership and talent development. You will mentor and support your team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture. By identifying emerging technologies and standard processes, you will ensure that Apple’s infrastructure remains driven and can support both current and future service needs. Additionally, you will lead initiatives to improve automation, monitoring, and infrastructure performance, ensuring that projects meet cost and scalability objectives.

  • Experience leading and handling geographically distributed teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment across time zones.
  • Confirmed leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a focus on mentorship and team development.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of networking technologies, including BGP, DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, and routing protocols, with an ability to efficiently collaborate multi-functionally.
  • Understanding of infrastructure technologies and operations, including automation, configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Salt), and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana).

  • 5+ years in team management or leadership role.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects and work you're doing while meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with large-scale infrastructure architecture, including CDN, DNS, and load balancing technologies.
  • Experience in running global Bill of Materials (BOMs), deployments, and infrastructure expansion in variable and geographically diverse locations.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) within a distributed environment.
  • Experience handling budgets, resource planning, and operational efficiency within a DevOps or infrastructure organization.
  • Record of delivering multi-functional projects with measurable business and technical outcomes.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $155,600 and $234,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
