Amazon Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) builds some of the world’s most complex supply chain challenges, at Amazon scale. SCOT's overall goal is to maximize long-term free cash flow by balancing factors like customer experience, inventory, and logistics costs.

• Automated Inventory Management: Join our innovative team developing AI-powered solutions that optimize Amazon's supply chain systems, where you'll architect and implement automated tools that identify and resolve complex inventory challenges across one of the world's largest e-commerce platforms. As an engineer on the AIM team, you'll have the opportunity to drive significant business impact by building sophisticated auditing mechanisms and creating intelligent automation solutions that directly improve Amazon's long-term financial performance.

• Fulfillment Optimization: Join our elite engineering team that powers Amazon's end-to-end fulfillment network, where you'll develop sophisticated algorithms that optimize the movement of millions of packages while making split-second decisions about delivery promises to customers worldwide. As an SDE on the Fulfillment Optimization team, you'll tackle complex distributed systems challenges in resource forecasting, network optimization, and real-time decision making that directly impact Amazon's ability to delight customers with fast, reliable delivery while maximizing operational efficiency.

• Optimal Sourcing Systems: Join the elite engineering team that powers Amazon's global supply chain, where you'll build systems that optimize sourcing decisions and manage supplier relationships across one of the world's largest e-commerce platforms. As a key architect on the Sourcing Systems team, you'll tackle complex challenges in predictive analytics, real-time decision making, and large-scale data processing that directly impact Amazon's ability to offer millions of products to customers worldwide at competitive prices.

• AmazonLink, Direct Fulfillment, & xSCOT: Join our elite engineering organization where you'll build mission-critical infrastructure powering Amazon's vast partner network, revolutionize e-commerce through innovative fulfillment solutions, and drive supply chain optimization at unprecedented scale. As a key architect in this space, you'll develop sophisticated distributed systems that process millions of transactions daily, seamlessly integrate thousands of global vendors, and create platform-level services that directly impact Amazon's ability to delight customers worldwide while driving operational efficiency.

• Inventory Planning & Control: Join our team to build systems that optimize inventory placement across Amazon's global network, where you'll develop sophisticated algorithms that balance customer demand with operational efficiency at massive scale. As a key engineer on the Inventory Planning & Control team, you'll architect complex distributed systems that make real-time decisions about billions of dollars in inventory movement, strategically positioning products across thousands of locations while minimizing costs and maximizing availability for millions of customers.

• Forecasting: Join our high-impact engineering team that powers Amazon's strategic growth through sophisticated forecasting systems, where you'll build scalable solutions that process and analyze massive datasets to predict business patterns across 400M+ products worldwide. As a key architect on the Forecasting team, you'll develop high-performance distributed systems handling billions of daily requests with millisecond-level SLAs, directly influencing critical business decisions from inventory management to long-term strategic planning across Amazon's global operations.


Depending on your experience, interests and business needs, you will own the front-end, back-end, or full stack design and development of product features, building scale, efficiency, and differentiated customer experiences. We’re looking for software engineers passionate about building software solutions end-to-end, have strong software development experience delivering at scale solutions, and systems design skills. You should have a demonstrated ability delivering within a DevOps delivery model from scoping requirements, requirement analysis, design, development, test, CI/CD, security implementation, and operational excellence with the ability to work cross-functionally with Product Managers, business stakeholders and other tech teams through the actual launch of the project. You should also have experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
