Amazon’s Automated Marketing and Experiences (AME) organization is building the Internet’s largest-scale Search Marketing systems. The team is responsible for a number of business-critical systems that generate, target, measure, and optimize hundreds of millions of search engine ad placements and organic search listings (SERPs). We apply best-in-class digital marketing optimization techniques like search engine optimization (SEO), landing page optimization (LPO), and content optimization to enhance Amazon customer shopping journeys and effectively target them with optimized landing page experiences that satisfy their search intent. We routinely solve challenges related to large-scale distributed services, big data systems, and web search services. We build keyword management, data infrastructure, business performance management, and systems that drive organic search, content selection, creative optimization, and video/image-based marketing. These systems maximize returns through discovery of new keywords and products, landing page targeting efficiency, and customer experience improvement opportunities. Cutting-edge technology and algorithms including data mining, statistical modeling, and machine learning are at the core of our business. Search Marketing drives a large portion of Amazon’s business and represents a unique opportunity to drive impact on the company’s bottom line. With essentially full ownership of our own product roadmap, there is a large R&D component to our work, and strong engineering skills together with sound business understanding and an appetite for innovation are highly valued.
We are looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager who is passionate about improving customer experiences and interactions with ads on external partners/vendors and is motivated by the prospects of multi-million dollar business returns and large-scale end-customer impact. Reinvent the customer experience and accelerate Ad supply growth by launching new products, ad formats, and automated tools for organic search, content selection, creative optimization, and video/image-based marketing, alongside Retail CX enhancements and the integration of ML/LLM to accelerate velocity and improve measurement and ad relevancy. You will manage complex programs spanning multiple science/engineering teams and organizational boundaries. You will engage with many different teams to remove friction during planning and delivery, while owning your program roadmap end to end. From ideation to execution, you will gather requirements, shape vision, and enable successful delivery. As a Sr TPM, you are a key decision maker—owning timelines, optimizing trade-offs, and managing stakeholder expectations.
The scope and scale of our work come with a high degree of ambiguity. You will need to balance customer needs with technical constraints and anticipate bottlenecks. You’ll partner with product management and technical leadership to identify company-wide opportunities in search advertising, including improving products and identifying new areas of investment. You will influence roadmaps across orgs and optimize delivery outcomes. As a technical leader, your influence will shape strategies across different Amazon organizations.
If you are a Think Big program leader with a passion for driving large-scale business impact through state-of-the-art Search advertising services, ML/LLM models, and onsite content/CX development on Amazon’s Retail website, apply now and be a key player in shaping the future of Amazon’s marketing strategy across advertising partners like Google, Microsoft, Meta, adMarketplace, TikTok, and Pinterest.
