About The Role

The product team is looking for a dynamic product leader to join our Flights Experience tribe as a Senior Product Manager to help us create and develop a Flights Alternatives strategy to help travellers plan multi-modal travel with Flights, Rail, Buses, etc, as well as advance our sustainability strategy across flights, multimodality, and destinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and develop the vision, strategy, and detailed roadmap for the Flights Alternatives strategy to help travellers plan multi-modal travel. 
  • Build a traveller first product that solves a traveller problem getting from A to B. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including industry and external partners, to ensure alignment and successful delivery. 
  • Collaborate with internal research teams on market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities. 
  • Communicate the vision, goals, and progress across the company at different levels, including the exec team. 
  • Own the outcome of the strategy, providing insights into product and business performance.

Key Skills

  • Proven experience as a Senior Product Manager in a fast-paced software or product led company. 
  • Passionate about building consumer-facing multimodal transportation products. 
  • Knowledge of the travel industry and the competitive landscape, technology trends and how this relates to Skyscanner strategy. 
  • Proven skills in managing multiple stakeholder interests. Proficiency in navigating and managing product development with multiple stakeholders involved. 
  • Strong problem solving and prioritisation skills for high impact across various product areas. 
  • Experience shipping complex products.

What Can You Expect

  • Product Strategy and Vision: How to develop a clear and compelling product strategy aligned with business goals and market trends. Visualise the product's long-term vision and communicate it effectively to cross-functional teams. 
  • Market Understanding: Build a deep understanding of the travel industry, including customer behaviours, market trends, and competitive landscape. Identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Technical Proficiency: Develop the ability to effectively communicate between engineering teams and other stakeholders. Understand technical constraints and possibilities to make informed decisions. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaboration with engineering, research, BAR, and other departments to ensure seamless communication, alignment, and execution across all stages of product development. 
  • Business Acumen: Grasp the financial aspects of flights including how different partner contracts influence our business and how we generate revenue from redirects, bookings and ads. 
  • Best Practices Knowledge: Stay up to date with industry best practices, product management methodologies, and technological advancements in both travel and tech domains and be open and willing to share these insights. 


Following extensive surveys and workshops around our
teams needs and preferences, we’ve returned to our offices in a hybrid working pattern: typically that looks like two days in the office, flexible to an individual’s need. As such, this role would be a great fit for someone who lives within commuting distance of one of our Scotland or Barcelona offices.
