In this role, you will act as a category owner for our most strategic audiences/music genres and contribute to our Fandom strategy. You will lead plans to grow customer count as well as build new revenue streams. You will lead a small team, and collaborate cross-functionally (locally and globally). Your focus will be (roughly) 60% focused on delivering and optimizing our existing roadmap, building mechanisms to help us scale, and 40% will be focused on experimenting and eventually launching a new business model.
You will build a vision and strategy for strategic audiences, through a deep understanding of customer needs, and industry trends. You will contribute to building stronger industry and artist relationships and drive critical content strategy recommendations to create a flywheel effect. You will consistently bring strong, data-driven business and strategic judgment to decisions as the industry and audience evolve. An interest and understanding for music, and in particular J-Pop and K-Pop, is a plus.
Key job responsibilities
- Build, and execute marketing and content plans including measurement, post-mortems and playbooks
- Influence and collaborate with local and global teams to accelerate growth of audiences
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and goals to measure growth and success of initiatives
- Develop and implement comprehensive growth strategies aligned with company goals and market opportunities
- Understand and track industry trends to build stronger industry relationships and collaborate with consumer insights and BI teams to build data and insights driven plans
- Build mechanisms to enable cross-functional collaboration, prioritization, speed to market and maximum impact
- Lead and inspire the team through a clear vision, and coaching
- Coach direct reports and mentees to foster a growth mindset and inclusive work environment- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of marketing or business management experience leading product or digital services
- Strong interpersonal and communication (including experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders) across multiple teams.
- Ability to deliver on multiple deadlines and prioritize as a self-directed individual
- Experience of operating and collaborating in a fast-paced, cross-functional matrixed organization.
- Business level proficiency in spoken and written English & Japanese - Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
- Extensive digital marketing experience with consumer facing brands
- Experience with subscription business, consumer products, media and/or e-commerce
- Intuition for customer communication voice and content marketing
- Passion for music and technology and the confluence of the two
