Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Tax Manager to oversee and manage LivePerson's tax compliance, reporting, and planning functions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax regulations and the ability to lead cross-functional efforts to ensure accurate and timely filing while identifying opportunities for tax efficiency. This role will report to the Global Controller.

You will: 

  • Lead all core tax responsibilities, including income tax, sales/use tax, and related filings, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee statutory reporting requirements, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory accounts and tax disclosures
  • Manage the preparation and review of corporate tax returns and ensure compliance across jurisdictions
  • Ensure timely filing and payment of all tax obligations, including income, sales/use, property, and other indirect taxes
  • Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision (ASC 740) reporting, including deferred tax calculations and financial statement disclosures
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess implications for the business; advise management on tax strategy and planning
  • Develop and implement strategies for tax efficiency and risk mitigation
  • Manage audits and inquiries from tax authorities, coordinating documentation and responses as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor tax team members, providing guidance and professional development.
  • Support business initiatives, including M&A activities, new product launches, and expansion into new jurisdictions, from a tax compliance and planning perspective.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure consistent and accurate tax treatment of transactions.

 

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws, including sales/use tax and statutory reporting requirements.

  • Experience with tax provision processes (ASC 740) and financial reporting under U.S. GAAP.

  • Familiarity with tax software (e.g., OneSource, CCH Axcess) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in managing or mentoring the tax members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license or Master’s in Taxation.

  • Experience managing global tax compliance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Working knowledge of international tax, transfer pricing, or indirect tax planning

 

Benefits: 

The salary range for this role will be between $100,000 to $130,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors, including, but not limited to your location, skills, experience, education, and/or professional certifications. During the phone screening, your recruiter will provide the location-specific salary range for this role.
