Minimum qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional qualification: Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)/Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA)/Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or equivalent.
7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Sustainability/ESG-related qualification with the experience of ESG frameworks, reporting and metrics.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, submitting and distributing external ESG related reports (e.g., EU NFRD reporting).
- Experience with process and internal control design and operations.
- Experience leading large, multi-jurisdictional regulatory implementation initiatives.
- Ability to grow in ambiguity and unstructured environments with the knowledge of agile approach.

The International Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) Controllership's mission is to enable consistent, comparable, and reliable ESG information and disclosures and we operate within the International Controllership's mission - to keep Alphabet safe, legal and operating in each and every jurisdiction. The International Reporting and Governance team are the foundational layer within International Controllership enabling Google to safely scale operations, to proactively flex to the challenges of our rapidly growing and increasingly diverse international business and effectively identify and manage enterprise risk across the regions.
In this role, you will draw upon your expert stakeholder management and communication skills to raise awareness and understanding of the implications of relevant reporting requirements as appropriate across the organization. You will ensure the integrity of ESG data, goals, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs). You will also have responsibility for the overall governance, controls and evidence for externally reported ESG data.

- Monitor and evaluate International ESG regulatory environment, scope impact and draft implementation plans to support readiness to comply.
- Engage with external and internal stakeholders, including peer company bench-marking, validating data and assisting with audit readiness. Prepare and deliver reports for various levels of management, including executive audiences.
- Provide training, process and governance expertise, develop policy, process and controls over ESG data and International ESG reporting.
- Povide ESG data-driven insights and recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership to inform broader ESG and business strategy based on reporting insights, technical expertise, and sound judgment.
- Ensure the integrity of ESG data, goals, metrics, and KPIs and will also have responsibility for the overall governance, controls and evidence for externally reported ESG data.
