Senior Software Dev Engineer, AmazonMQ

Amazon MQ is a managed AWS service for Apache ActiveMQ and RabbitMQ that streamlines setup, operation, and management of message brokers on AWS. Every day we make it easier for developers to build applications that use the rich features and power of open-source message brokers. We partner with the maintainers of the RabbitMQ and Apache ActiveMQ open source projects to continually evolve and improve the projects with new features and optimizations.

This position will work directly with the RabbitMQ community to contribute features and fixes to RabbitMQ written in Erlang. It will also provide support for Amazon's RabbitMQ service offering. - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Expertise in Erlang, with at least 2 years of experience working on production Erlang code- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
