On-site
Are you passionate about developing generative AI, LLM and Vision solutions to revolutionize content understanding, automation, and robotics? Are you looking for opportunities to build and deploy them on real-world problems at a massive scale? At Amazon Fulfillment Technologies and Robotics, we are on a mission to build high-performance AI/Vision/NLP systems that understand and act to further improve our world-class customer experience - at Amazon scale.

This role is with the Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) AI team, a group with deep expertise in developing and deploying AI solutions at scale to address complex business challenges within the Amazon Fulfillment Network. We are seeking an Applied Scientist with expertise in NLP (and preferably large language models). In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to develop and scale innovative models across a wide range of initiatives. If you are a proactive, customer-focused individual with a passion for solving real-world problems through NLP, and thrive in a setting that values ownership and impact, this is the team for you.

Key job responsibilities
- Apply your expertise in AI/NLP/LLM to design, train, test and implement scalable solutions that address complex language-related challenges alongside our partner teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to define project requirements, establish success metrics, and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Embrace a high level of research ambiguity that require creative, ambitious, and inventive solutions.
- Continuously explore and evaluate state-of-the-art NLP techniques and methodologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of language-related systems.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear explanations and guidance on proposed solutions and their potential impact.
- Be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving.
