The Brand Design group is an in-house creative team – part of the Marketing Department – that services all internal constituents of Datadog, including the Events, Demand Generation, Communications and Partnership functions. The group is composed of 21 Designers and Illustrators that deliver a wide range of projects such as ad campaigns, web design, event branding and signage, reports and e-books, etc.

We’re seeking a driven, energetic, and meticulous Creative Operations Manager to guide creative projects from brief to delivery. In this role, you will act as a liaison to internal stakeholders to guarantee the Brand Design team is resourced appropriately for upcoming projects and has been provided accurate details to complete those assignments. You must have a strong understanding of workflow management within a creative team, be solutions-driven and organized to ensure that high quality work is delivered on time and within scope. Constant communication and the ability to remain calm under pressure must be in your DNA.

Within the Brand Design team, you will report to the Creative Director while assisting group Managers and Art Directors, and all designers operationally. You will be instrumental in helping to implement new creative processes around projects as well as organize assignments to designers and across external production agencies.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain and enhance Brand Design’s central project management and online proofing tools, build documentation, train users on creative process and capabilities, assist internal stakeholders with formulating their briefs when requesting projects
  • Set up and lead team meetings to analyze and assign incoming requests, track progress of projects and flag issues 
  • Manage and oversee all creative workflows within the Brand Design department, proactively and clearly communicate status, risks, and issues internally and with clients, define, implement, and optimize creative processes and resources, ensure creative development schedules and quality standards are being met
  • Source out and select Datadog’s production agencies for ads and resizing executions, manage their workload and track deliverables 
  • Partner with Creative and Marketing leadership to formalize and enhance the operating procedures on big event projects
  • Attend long-term project meetings to determine creative/content needs
  • Maintain and distribute a library of brand assets and guidelines, drive the archival process of all files created by Brand Design

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or professional equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar role at a creative agency or in-house creative department
  • Experience with implementing project management tools, methodologies, and best practices, demonstrated proficiency at optimizing creative workflow and tracking progress of projects, ability to prioritize work and resources across projects based on short and long-term needs
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills while working with all levels within the company, strong organizational skills, coupled with responsiveness and follow-through on details
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations, identify and solve for blockers, and know when to escalate to keep projects and process development moving forward
  • Ability to take direction, work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, adaptable and able to embrace future changes
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe design applications including, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

Bonus Experience (Not Required):

  • Knowledge of Jira and proofing tools (Ziflow, Filestage, etc.)
  • Experience with working in engineering environment
