The 3D mapping team's mission is to develop cutting-edge core technologies for 3D mapping and contextual understanding for metaverse digital twins. Our team is building large-scale persistent maps for AR and VR products at Meta. The precise geometric representation of the environment enables rich and consistent AR and VR experiences. We covers three pillars of work: cloud mapping pipeline and platform serving various use cases core mapping algorithm development including conventional and machine lenaring-based Structure-from-motion (Structure-from-Motion), VIO & SLAM Large-scale mapping and maps management.
