At Jumio, the Software Development Engineer IV – Web will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert for front-end engineering. This role demands deep expertise in React.js (primary) and Angular.js (secondary), a strong understanding of scalable web architectures, and the ability to drive best-in-class user experiences. You’ll lead the design and implementation of complex, high-impact features across Jumio’s Identity Verification platform, ensuring performance, maintainability, and excellence in engineering execution.
You will demonstrate depth in front-end development while contributing across the full development lifecycle. From architecture and code reviews to CI/CD optimization and UI testing strategies, you will collaborate with design, backend, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. You are expected to lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvements in front-end practices.

Lead the architecture and development of scalable, high-performance web applications using React.js and Angular.js.
Translate complex UI/UX designs into clean, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on performance and accessibility.
Build and evolve reusable component libraries and design systems to support rapid feature development.
Optimize applications for speed, responsiveness, and cross-platform/browser compatibility.
Ensure robust state management and seamless API integrations with back-end systems.
Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies that enhance developer productivity and front-end performance.
Conduct thorough design and code reviews, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices and coding standards.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering growth and technical excellence.
Partner with Product and Design to scope and prioritize features and define technical feasibility early in the planning phase.
Lead complex technical initiatives and cross-team collaborations across the engineering organization.
Define and implement automated testing strategies using Playwright or similar tools.
Ensure comprehensive test coverage for new and existing features.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support test-driven development practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex UI-related issues proactively and systematically.
7+ years of front-end development experience with expert-level proficiency in React.js and strong experience in Angular.js.
Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
Proven experience building scalable, production-grade front-end applications.
Strong background in automated UI testing, preferably with Playwright.
Experience integrating front-end systems with RESTful APIs and WebSocket-based services.
Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI), and agile methodologies.
Experience with performance profiling, lighthouse audits, and optimization tools.
Familiarity with LLMs and AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
Exposure to Cucumber or BDD frameworks.
Knowledge of Material UI, Ant Design, or other component libraries.
Basic understanding of backend technologies (especially Java and Spring) to enable better collaboration with backend engineers.
Awareness of containerization tools like Docker and DevOps workflows.
