For our Romania Office, we are looking for an IT Support Engineer. The IT Support Engineer will serve as a key member of our IT Team, as it is the central point of contact for all IT related incidents and service requests. This role provides technical advice and support to help people use computer software and hardware effectively, working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The IT Support Support Engineer reports to the Global IT Director.

What you will be doing, your legacy

  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows, Mac and Linux) and across a range of software applications.
  • Assist all our users with any logged IT related incident when called upon, providing remote or face-to-face support.
  • Take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the user as soon as possible; discuss and escalate incidents to other IT teams where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the IT Infosec teams on solving security issues and improve security posture..
  • Accurately record, update and document cases using the IT Ticketing System (Jira).
  • Accurate record and consistency amongst all inventory systems (Snipe IT, JumpCloud, Google, Active Directory)
  • Connect new users to networks and provide initial onboarding helping them to setup, understand and use Onapsis tools in a basic manner
  • Resolve office incidents with printers, copiers, scanners and other Issues.
  • Strong focus on SLA's providing quick & professional service to our users
  • Review and brainstorm service level reports and actively collaborate on proposing & implementing improvements to our services, processes or procedures.
  • Identify and actively pursue the opportunities for scripting & automation (Powershell / Bash / Python scripting experience is required)

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in an IT support role (at least 1-2 years)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Ubuntu & Mac OS client operating systems as well as various software packages including Microsoft Office & Google Suite; Jumpcloud knowledge is a plus
  • Strong client focus and passion about helping people and fixing technical issues.
  • Curiosity & Analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people in a professional manner, face to face, on the telephone and via email / Slack.
  • Ability to work as part of a Global team understanding & respecting the cultural differences
  • Technically solid in general IT issues (software deployment, user privileges handling, ticketing activities)
  • Willing to work flexibly and with enthusiasm.
  • Good English level is a must
  • General understanding of tactics, techniques and procedures associated with cyber threats and the ability to develop relevant alerting, countermeasures, and threat hunting techniques.
  • Basic understanding of security tools, protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, networking, operating systems and endpoint security.
  • Strong self-motivation, problem solver and orientation toward results.
  • Innovative mindset and ability to work with other IT Teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience on Google Apps for Work suite
  • Basic experience in endpoint troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Linux desktop distributions (troubleshooting, installation of tools, etc)
  • Information Security concepts and experience dealing with IS issues (virus, malware, phishing attacks, etc)
  • Practical experience working in an agile environment.
  • Scripting & Automation experience (Python, Powershell, other scripting languages)
  • Ability to understand and configure interfaces using APIs - Webhooks - SSL certificates or tunnels
  • Basic understanding of LLMs and AI (ChatGPT and Others)
  • Experience with middleware’s (Boomi, Celigo, Mulesoft Composer)
  • Experience with automation tools (n8, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet)
  • JumpCloud experience

Employment: Onapsis hires full-time employees in Romania. We do not engage with SRLs or B2B contractors.

Location: Onapsis established a new development center in Bucharest. This role is hybrid (1-2 days from the office per week).
