ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Global Insights & Data Science (GIDS) team is looking for a Director of Analytics to join a team of Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers and Economists who analyze big data, provide analytics and insights, as well as build models and algorithms that drive marketing, content and product strategy for Audible. You will be a highly visible leader that will own the communication, coordination, and execution of multiple concurrent programs, partnering with stakeholders across GIDS, marketing, product, content, strategy and finance.
As an Associate Director, Analytics, you will…
- Lead strategic analytics and science solutions
- Scale operations by defining and overseeing processes aligned with business needs
- Solve complex problems spanning multiple systems and teams
- Develop testable structures and experimental designs for hypothesis testing
- Lead the development of analytics, BI, and data science deliverables
- Communicate compelling insights to shape strategy and promote adoption of data science tools
- Serve as a subject matter expert in analytics
- Stay updated on economic and industry trends relevant to the business
- Possess in-depth knowledge of data sources, BI technologies, and analytical tools
- Build a network of subject matter experts for insights and information
- Explain assumptions and methodologies to colleagues in other departments
- Identify data-driven strategic opportunities for the Executive Leadership team
- Conduct strategic, operational, economic, and financial analysis for decision-making
- Drive discussion and insights with tech and non-tech executives
- Deliver technical solutions that guide the strategic direction of the business
- Design and develop KPIs, scorecards, and dashboards for tracking performance
- Collaborate with technical functions and provide strategic and technical advice to senior leaders.

- Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or a related field- Hands-on experience in developing data-driven products (ML models, forecasting tools, etc.) and scorecards, and sharing business recommendation and their financial/customer impact with the stakeholders
- Expertise in scripting languages (such as SQL, Python, R, SAS, etc.) and the tools (such as MS excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required to perform analysis
- Experience in developing visualization tools such as Tableau, Microstrategy, Shiny, etc., and analytics/presentation
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making
- Combination of technical and business acumen, with ability to advocate technical solutions for analytics and science with engineering and business audiences
- Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and design robust, scalable solutions
- Familiarity with machine learning and data science
- Aptitude and drive to learn new tools quickly
- Intellectual curiosity for what drives the business
- Passion to move forward to the solution and focused on solving the right set of problems with speed
