As a Senior Data Engineer on Ring's Fintech team, you'll architect and implement data solutions that power critical financial systems and business decisions. You'll work at the intersection of financial technology and data engineering, building robust data pipelines and infrastructure that support key financial platforms. Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data repository architecture and pipelines in collaboration with business and engineering teams
- Establish and maintain data modeling standards and best practices that enable self-service analytics
- Optimize data pipeline performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through distributed storage and query techniques
- Support real-time data processing needs and streamlining existing data connections
- Manage information security and privacy compliance across data systems and integration points
- Develop robust, well-tested code with comprehensive documentation and automated testing
- Maintain data cataloging standards, governance policies, and documentation while ensuring compliance across all data repositories
- Drive continuous improvement through technical debt remediation and system enhancements

Ring's mission is to make neighborhoods safer by creating products that work together to help protect homes and communities. What started as a smart doorbell camera has transformed into a whole-home security system powered by a Ring of Security β both inside and outside your home. Since its founding in 2013 and acquisition by Amazon in 2018, Ring has been at the forefront of home security innovation, offering smart home devices and services that give customers affordable, proactive home and neighborhood security.
This role will sit on the Ring Fintech team, part of the Ring Controllership team within the Devices & Services division of Amazon. We support management reporting, accounting close, and operations teams to provide oversight and insight to the Ring business. This role will have cross functional visibility to several finance and product teams in addition to the Ring data engineering team.
- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
- Experience with Stripe

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market.
