POSITION SUMMARY:

The Investment Accounting Systems Lead role partners with the Investment Accounting team, IT data team, IT Finance team and primary third-party administrators to provide support, data management, and reporting.  This position will be accountable for managing the data lifecycle and development throughout the Investment Accounting process.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • New Requests/Builds
    • Collaborate with Investment Accounting data team on any data needs for reporting.
    • Define backlog items and requirements/design for IT Data team.
    • Design and develop reporting solutions to facilitate the Investment Accounting business process that complements the Global Atlantic Data Strategy.
    • Participate in testing and verification of technical solutions.
  • General Support
    • Become a subject matter expert in Investment Accounting Data Management capabilities.
    • Maintain application and reporting requirements to ensure appropriate documentation exists.
    • Provide training to new and existing users on current and future functionality.
  • Production Process
    • Manage and facilitate all incidents from Priority 1 to Priority 4, which includes, but not limited to, providing support to users of applications, responding to user-based questions, tickets and assists with troubleshooting issues within platform.
    • Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects or requests.
    • Provides on-call assistance as requested, for after-hours issues and support needs.
    • Resolve incidents if able to, otherwise escalate as needed. (provide tier-2 incident response)
  • Role will be responsible for developing and designing Tableau workbooks and dashboards, working directly with end users to elicit requirements and gather feedback.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Undergraduate degree in an IT related field or accounting with an MIS focus. 
  • 2-5 years’ experience with Fixed Income Investment and/or Investment Accounting, a plus 
  • General understanding of Life and Annuity products, a plus 
  • 2 years of demonstrable experience with Tableau or Power BI
  • Desirable, but not mandatory
    • Experience in the following technologies – Relational Databases, Redshift, MS Excel
    • Experience with a low-code platform
    • Experience in a Virtual Desktop Environment
    • Experience with Agile principles 
  • Experienced SQL developer with general development skills with proven experience across 2+ programming languages, a plus
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income Investments and awareness of Investment Accounting in the Life and Annuity insurance industry, a plus
  • Experience eliciting data requirements from business users.
  • Experience building sustainable reports from an organizational data source.
  • Proven experience working with vendors
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills and documentation skills
  • Work cross-functionally within IT, with an emphasis working with a data team.

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. 

The base salary range for this role is
$76,000$144,600 USD
