What you’ll do

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join the team and help us transform the access to healthcare! Doctolib aims at creating a Health Data Warehouse (HDW), or Entrepôt de données de Santé (EDS), that will gather a big volume of medical data for research. We believe that AI can bring game-changing changes to help improve the daily life of healthcare practitioners and help people be healthier. As an Analytics Engineer specializing in health data, you will be at the center of building this HDW or EDS, taking raw data and transforming it for the EDS.

Important point at Doctolib: the data is fully encrypted and anonymized.

You will be part of the Analytics Engineering team which has different goals:

  • Build, maintain and push forward Doctolib data products providing insights, supporting decision-making and feeding our AIs:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs, and communicate with them to ensure alignment during the project
    • Explore data to validate business rules
    • Evaluate complexity
    • Define specifications and develop the data products
    • Project management (project split, grooming, timeline)
    • Monitor the product (test and measure)
    • Continuous improvement on the data products
  • Define and implement high level reporting (KPI definitions, Dashboards creation and maintenance)
  • Define roadmaps in collaboration with PMs and stakeholders
  • Ensure data products quality (monitoring), security (GDPR, legal, infrastructure security), and availability (code optimization, performance monitoring, architecture optimization)
  • Stakeholders guidance, empower data self-service to your stakeholders (train and advice)

Everyone in the team is able to develop full stack data skills (from the source to the publication).

Your responsibilities within the team include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Product/Medical/Engineering teams to challenge the needs
  • Model, build and maintain datamarts in the Datawarehouse (SQL)
  • Build and maintain data pipelines (Python)
  • Build dashboards for the high level reporting (Tableau)
  • Ensure training on data to end users (Metabase and Tableau)
  • Monitor the quality of the data provided
  • Be a key player to improve our architecture

The team hosts a quarterly Data Innovation Days, hackatons for trying new tools/architectures or developing applications you find useful for the team.

Who you are

You could be our next team mate if you: 

  • Have already worked with health data, in an Health Data W arehouse (Entrepot de données de santé) and have a good understanding of functional and modelization aspects of health data. Are able to interact with medical experts.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, Data Engineer or a similar role making data transformations
  • Are comfortable using SQL
  • Have experience in code hosting platform (we are using GitHub)
  • Are results-oriented and proactive
  • Speak both French & English


Now, it would be fantastic if you:

  • Are familiar with medical data formats such as OMOP and FHIR and are following the research on this topics
  • Have experience with Google Big Query
  • Have experience with DBT
  • Have some knowledge of Python
  • Have already used BI tools such as Tableau, Metabase, Superset, Power BI…
  • Are familiar with the GDPR regulations
  • Have good communication skills
