Are you an international trade attorney looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, innovative company? Come have fun and make history with Amazon's Global Trade Legal team. We are looking for a talented attorney to manage dynamic international trade legal work in support of our Consumer and Operations businesses. In this role, you will be responsible for counseling Amazon businesses on a broad range of regulatory and commercial matters, with a focus on global regulations governing imports and exports. You will provide day-to-day advice on trade regulations, and advise on emerging regulatory and enforcement trends to help shape Amazon's trade compliance policies and programs. You will work on complex and high-stakes global trade issues affecting current and future business models and technologies at Amazon. Businesses you support will seek your counsel and strategic advice to grow and move selection to our global stores and customers. You will also work with engineers and program managers to support the development and deployment of Amazon-branded offerings and technological innovations, and partner with retail, compliance, and logistics professionals to build and improve compliance policies, procedures and processes. Your work also will involve support of import matters, with a particular emphasis on customs valuation. You will provide advice to internal stakeholders, as well as develop submissions to regulators and other external stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include performing legal research; providing legal and risk analysis; drafting guidance documents, decision memos, regulatory submissions, and correspondence; managing internal data collection/review projects; developing and implementing processes to simplify or automate recurring tasks; and coordinating with compliance professionals, government relations specialists and other legal partners.- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience advising on customs/import matters- Knowledge of customs valuation rules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
