Senior Software Engineer - Activities Studio

We’re looking for a game developer software engineer who can rapidly prototype new experiences, make the best ones production-ready, and scale them to serve millions of Discord users.

• Unlock unique experiences. Build cutting-edge tech creating new capabilities for Activities and games on Discord.
• Innovate and iterate. Work alongside world-class developers to create best-in-class gaming experiences for our players.
• Deliver at scale. Deploy and operate a platform to reliably entertain millions of players with dozens of releases each year.
• Constantly grow and improve. Actively look for opportunities to level up both our processes/tools and our team overall.

Who You Are

• Possess 5+ years of full-stack software development experience.
• Proficient in building high-performance applications on modern web technologies.
• Strong networking fundamentals, essential to creating real-time multiplayer games.
• Has built and operated large-scale applications on a popular cloud platform like GCP or AWS.
• Skilled with CI, build and deployment technologies such as GitHub Actions, Docker, and Terraform.
• A product-minded engineer with demonstrated ability to rapidly prototype and iterate.
• An empathetic communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment with other engineers and cross-functional teams.

Bonus points

• Proficient with Typescript, React, Unity, Cocos Engine, Python and/or Rust.
• Practiced operating serverless architecture.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000 to $201,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
