Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management, motivating cross-functional projects across multiple organizations.
  • Experience in the software development life cycle with technical product launches.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in debugging technical issues that cross boundaries between Hardware, Software and Connectivity/Network teams.
  • Experience with release management with Android OS or other major operating systems.
  • Experience with power, performance, thermal optimization.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels including executive leadership team or managers.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing planning and execution of end-to-end product features on Pixel devices. You will work with our cross-functional Hardware, Software, Product management as well as external Pixel partners teams, effectively collaborate across geographies to deliver quality features to our users.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

  • Deliver Software for successful phone/tablet launches by motivating the overall software schedule, developing a plan, spotting and tracking risks and issues, triaging and prioritizing features and bugs, marshaling cross-functional support, and escalating when required.
  • Work with engineering teams across multiple sites and with external software vendors. Collate and represent overall device program status within the core team, cross business unit, and externally (e.g., customers, partners, etc.).
  • Use data to motivate technical analyses on software issues and partner with teams to develop fixes, timelines, and communications to motivate Product Area-level decisions.
  • Track software launch readiness across many dimensions.
  • Drive program-wide process improvements to enhance scalability and repeatability of Pixel new product development, the device life cycle, features and software releases.
