The CATALYST writers’ academy is an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about writing and looking to pursue a career in medical and scientific communications.
CATALYST has been developed as a 2-year course, using our industry-leading expertise in adult learning. As a new Trainee Medical Writer, you will first complete a six-week intensive course led by medical education experts. This will be followed by assignment to a live account, where you will be closely mentored by senior writers, and have the opportunity to contribute to a range of active projects. Your on-the-job training will be supported by a CATALYST course leader and supplemented by additional CATALYST sessions designed to ensure you have the skills and knowledge that you need for different aspects of your role.
On successful completion of the first six months of CATALYST, you will progress to our Medical Writer level 1 role, with an expectation to progress through Medical Writer levels 2 and 3 during the full 2-year CATALYST programme.
The CATALYST writers’ academy won a Gold Award for Learning and Development at the 2023 UK Employee Experience Awards.
The 2-year CATALYST course is based on a 5-day working week, our core working model is '3:2', with two days in one of our offices and three days from home or wherever you work best within the UK.
*Please note the closing date for applications is Monday 2nd December 5pm and we will be holding our assessment day on Friday 17th January on site in our London office (Sea Containers House).
