Your Impact

As a Senior Engineering Manager in the Connected Devices pillar, you will lead multiple engineering teams based in Vietnam to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance software that enables Axon's next-generation hardware products. These include body-worn and in-car cameras, wireless peripherals, and more.
You will drive the technical roadmap, instill a high bar for quality and operational excellence, and foster a strong engineering culture in our growing Vietnam hub. You are a hands-on technical leader with a track record of managing managers, solving complex problems, and shipping mission-critical systems at scale.

What You’ll Do

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (Hybrid, 3+ days onsite per week)
Reports To: Director of Engineering
Direct Reports: 2–3 Engineering Managers and/or ~15–20 Engineers across multiple teams

  • Lead and grow multiple engineering teams building embedded applications and cloud integrations for connected devices
  • Own and evolve architecture and platform components supporting secure, low-latency communication and video/audio streaming
  • Set engineering and operational standards for software reliability, quality, and performance
  • Partner with Product, Design, QA, and Security to shape product direction and execute delivery
  • Define strategic direction for your teams and align cross-functional stakeholders around shared goals
  • Coach engineering managers and senior engineers, and develop future leaders in the Vietnam site
  • Build and scale effective team structures that can deliver on evolving business and technology needs
  • Contribute to cross-site collaboration and represent Vietnam engineering in global discussions

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing managers or multiple engineering teams
  • Strong experience delivering embedded systems and/or real-time connected devices in production environments
  • Hands-on technical depth in .NET/Java/Go or C/C++, embedded, systems programming, or cloud integration technologies
  • Proven leadership skills in growing teams and fostering a high-performance engineering culture
  • Familiarity with agile planning, architecture reviews, operational metrics and delivering high-availability, scalable systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Understanding of security, networking (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, etc.) and wireless communications
  • Passion for mentoring diverse talent and building an inclusive, feedback-driven culture
  • Experience working in multi-site, global product organizations
