ART

What We Do

Push your artistic talent to the limit on a team of world-class environment, character and concept artists who strive to innovate and inspire.

What You'll Do

You’ve made games, across a variety of genres, as a core of your career. You are skilled at creating world class 3d assets as an individual contributor, and have led internal and external teams of artists. You have a keen interest in building experiences from scratch, with excitement for growing an idea from a seed, visually developing it to a high standard and then realizing that vision in-engine. You have developed a passion for modeling, texturing, environments, characters, weapons, vehicles, lighting, VFX and all the latest tools and techniques to facilitate the creative process. In this role you will be working closely with a small multidisciplinary team to build full fledged experiences using cutting edge features of UEFN. You’ll gather feedback and be open to testing your assumptions on the product design working with engineering, design, art, and community in developing a new generation of game development tools.

In this role, you will

  • Partner with the art, design, and engineering teams to deliver world class experiences in UEFN. Consistently exercise the tools and workflows to create content and experiences
  • Directly support internal UEFN experiences and use those lessons to help inform future development of features and workflows for all creators
  • Work with the team to develop guidelines on content development that allows for the highest quality content across multiple platforms
  • Actively create “How To” guides for our internal development, and for the community, to help disseminate best practices
  • Provide thoughtful and detailed feedback on ways we can improve Unreal Editor for Fortnite (and Unreal Engine) in order to facilitate workflows for creators
  • Be flexible and proactive when working with tools in development, using out of the box thinking to sidestep limitations - while also feeding back to the wider team to help remove these limitations for the future
  • Nurturing and supporting an internal team of artists and vendor teams to help them achieve their goals and the expected level of quality for Epic Games

What we're looking for

  • 5-10 years of experience in games is highly preferred as an individual contributor or in a lead capacity
  • Experience with Unreal Editor is required
  • Knowledge of UEFN and Fortnite Creative is a plus
  • Experience with core 3D DCC applications such as Blender or Maya or 3DS Max is required
  • Experience with ZBrush, Marmoset Toolbag, Substance, is required and knowledge of Houdini is a plus
  • Ability to assess systems and features from an end-user perspective
  • Experience working with a variety of art disciplines
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to drive consensus with clever, thoughtful people
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
