Hybrid

Niantic's Security Team seeks a software engineer to improve the security stance of our products and infrastructure. We lead the advancement of AR and other immersive technologies while building engaging apps for a user base in the billions. Join our multifaceted security team as a Full Stack Software Engineer, where you'll focus on security tooling and automation.

You will join a team responsible for developing and maintaining products and services related to privacy and security. This role requires a proactive approach to design and development of robust and safe code. You also need to be willing to take on technical debt, and be able to do large-scale refactoring while also resolving complex bugs and issues. If you're self-motivated, and have an interest in security-centric projects driven by a small and diverse team in Zurich, we need your skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop security tooling and frameworks to support games and our infrastructure.
  • Create web front-ends and backend infrastructure used to improve security. This could cover projects like access controls, cloud project management, or software lifecycle management.
  • Provide services and libraries to be used by the larger engineering force, to e.g. handle cryptographic operations or enforce user data privacy.
  • Drive the automation of security audits within our code base, cloud and other platforms, ensuring compliance with best practices.
  • Collaborate with development teams to enable improve the security of our software during its entire lifecycle. For example, increase containerization, improve build processes (e.g. app signing) and maintain and design security CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.
  • Required in-office 2 days on Tuesday and Thursday.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a software development role, ideally with a focus on security.
  • Accomplished programmer in some of Java, Golang, Python, C++, Javascript, Typescript in larger teams.
  • Shown understanding of Google Cloud Platform, Identity-Aware Proxy, authentication mechanisms, databases, GitLab, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice. 
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
