Senior Director, Engineering, Real Time Communications, Google Workspace

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of professional experience in engineering leadership or related technical roles.
• Experience managing an engineering organization across multiple geographies and product portfolios.

Preferred qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience bringing innovative, industry-leading, category-defining tech products to market.
• Experience working with executive level internal and external clients/partners, acting as a representative of the company.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, partnering with groups (e.g., Product Management, Product Marketing, UX and UI), brokering trade offs with stakeholders and understanding their needs.
• Experience working with Machine Learning, AI, Large Language Models (LLM) to process and create data.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $323,000-$465,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity.
• Collaborate closely with product management, design, and research teams to define and deliver compelling product roadmaps, ensuring timely execution and high-quality releases.
• Drive continuous technological advancement in Google Meet and Google Voice, exploring and implementing cutting-edge technologies to enhance user experience and product capabilities.
• Ensure operational stability, scalability, and performance of Google Meet and Google Voice services, meeting the highest standards of reliability and security.
