Snapshot

As an Operations Manager in the International Operations Team, you will partner closely with local leaders and global operational teams to ensure an exceptional work experience across a subset of our global office locations. You will be a conduit for information across borders and act as a beacon for the Google DeepMind culture and values, motivating change, and engaging your stakeholders through the planning and delivery of programs, processes, events and other initiatives.

You’ll collaborate with a wide range of Research, Engineering and Operational disciplines to continuously evolve and improve company wide processes bringing your unique local contextual understanding to ensure they are scalable and fit for purpose.

The role

The Operations Manager supports projects and processes, working independently with guidance on assigned tasks within larger initiatives across a region. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. This role also contributes to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment in line with both local and global GDM culture and values.

Key responsibilities

  • Project Support: Execute tasks within the scope of projects and processes, ensuring alignment with project plans and timelines.
  • Process Execution: Follow established processes and procedures, seeking guidance when necessary, to complete assigned tasks efficiently, accurately and effectively. Identify process gaps or deficiencies and propose improvements.
  • Collaboration: Build relationships within your team and with external stakeholders to support project goals and share best practices.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and escalate challenges, assisting senior team members in addressing and resolving issues.
  • Continuous Learning: Proactively seek opportunities to learn and develop skills, applying new knowledge to improve GDM-related processes and initiatives.
  • Culture Building: Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive workplace aligned with GDM's values.
  • Occasional International Travel will be required

About you

In order to set you up for success as an Operations Manager in the International Operations Team at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

  • Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to consider diverse perspectives and promote inclusion.

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

  • A breadth of operational skills and experiences including partnering across offices and timezones with a range of disciplines such as Workplace, Events, Recruitment, New Starter Onboarding, Communications and Security 
  • Facilitation skills 
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple business functions 
  • Experience with the use of GSuite tools
