The Autonomy Safety Assurance group's mission is to design, prototype and productionize novel methods and tools for efficient modeling and simulations of complex systems at scale. These tools aid in measuring the safety of our AI and readiness for launch. We use recent advances in machine learning, statistics, optimization, and numerical methods to verify and validate our software and AI in the most challenging environments, and subsequently develop tools to enable other teams at Zoox to do the same.
In this role, you will own and develop multiple web applications that support the execution and introspection of large scale simulation runs. Itβs not practical for engineers to look at every single simulation, when there are thousands or millions--so your tools will be used heavily by tool makers, simulation engineers, and autonomy software engineers to drive the company forward.
Due to their visibility, these simulations are expected to be of a high caliber as they help to direct the development resources of the company. The ideal candidate will have an attentiveness to details, the ability to communicate across multiple departments and technical levels, as well as the curiosity and drive to dive into specific issues as they arise.
