Deputy Director - Business Planning

Roles and Responsibilities

Role

This is a Flipkart facing role

Manage the Sell-Side Operations for Flipkart Fashion Originals (FFO) + Myntra Fashion Brands (MFB) on Flipkart across key areas including:

  • Sales Planning
  • Pricing Strategy
  • Merchandising & Visibility Management
  • Customer & Margin Planning
  • Inventory Management & Supply Analytics
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong organization & presentation skills

Analyze business metrics to identify problems and strengths, and lead ongoing and special projects to improve ROI.

Plan monthly and quarterly sales to meet the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) & Monthly Demand Plan for Flipkart

Oversee strategies across pricing, merchandising, selection targets, and marketing to achieve revenue and customer targets, collaborating closely with other teams.

Develop a strong supply analytics system, providing regular updates to the brand team on potential opportunities and risks.

Ensure inventory hygiene, maintaining clear visibility on business health.

Ideal candidates should have excellent analytical skills, the ability to collaborate across teams, and strong business insight.

This is a team management role but will also have IC responsibilities on few critical charters

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Create and ensure delivery of each month’s revenue plan for each category and brand, addressing both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Track and manage Selection ramp up within the Category X vertical, working closely with relevant teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Oversee P&L management for the business unit, optimizing key metrics such as GMV, BSM, as per plan
  • Monitor discounting and pricing for all brands on other platforms to ensure right CVP 
  • Collaborate and influence cross-functional teams to meet goals and ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Drive automation and develop efficient, scalable processes to improve operations.
  • Partner with the category team to lead and execute larger strategic projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Top Tier academic background

Data driven

  • 6+ years of experience in sales operations or sales planning or merchandising
  • Strong analytical skills and a process-oriented mindset.
  • Previous experience in e-commerce
  • Proficiency in MS Suite - Excel, PPT
  • Knowledge of BI tools and statistics is a plus
