Internship - Software Developer

Overview

Are you looking for an experience this summer where you can learn and earn at the same time? Our internships provide valuable work experience while you prepare for life after graduation. Interns at Esri work on challenging projects with experienced team members throughout the company.

Who's Eligible?

Summer internships are open to both undergraduate and graduate students who are graduating this semester or will be returning to school in the fall.

Responsibilities

Esri interns contribute to real projects and are mentored by team members along the way. Some of our technically-oriented interns have worked on a wide range of exciting projects such as: 

• Research state of the art methods or approaches that can be used to improve the software or solve a new problem  
• Help design, test, and document new functionality in ArcGIS products 
• Develop use cases that show the value of spatial analysis in solving important problems that we face as a society 
• Write blog posts or learn lessons that explain how to use ArcGIS to accomplish a well-defined goal 
• Be part of building the world’s leading GIS software from the ground up  

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of GIS and remote sensing
• Excellent test engineering and problem-solving skills
• Strong development skills using Java, C#, or Python
• Desire and ability to learn new skills and contribute to producing quality commercial software

Recommended Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS
• Experience with JUnit, CppUnit, Selenium, or other testing frameworks
• Experience with remote sensing and image processing
• Familiarity with raster and imagery data formats
