The Regional WHS Manager will lead Workplace Health and Safety for Amazon GSF operations across South and central India region,. We are looking for strong self-driven leaders who are passionate about safety and will help build a strong EHS culture and compliance. The leader will be responsible for upholding the Amazon WW WHS vision of making our operations safe for all partners. They will need to be updated on India safety regulatory framework to provide the right EHS support to the independent contractor/ partner within the legal ambit. This individual will partner with other Regional Safety Managers, FC operations teams, Last mile operations team and Mile Corporate Counsel to ensure partner compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will drive continuous improvement initiatives across partners to reduce risk Under the roof and Out on Road for partners. The leader must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
As Regional Manager WHS, the individual will be responsible to work with the BU Safety Single threaded leader to create and update the BU strategy document. They will provide updates to the leadership on monthly and quarterly progress on the strategy through the Monthly and Quarterly Business review documents. The EHS leader will be required to identify best practices and incorporate them into our standards to continuously improve partner safety policies. They will be required to possess excellent safety program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrate this expertise when working with partners.
The job would require 50 % travel across region and some national level travel as well to assess partner performance and working with BU teams to streamline performance. The candidate would be expected to utilize approved communication channels to run safety campaigns for the independent contractors and partners.They will create a mechanisms to gauge partner performance and update leadership through weekly and monthly review mechanisms.
The candidate shall be responsible for the following, at a minimum:
1. Create First mile and last mile Strategy.
Author the annual strategy document, monthly MBR and quarterly QBR documents for GSF.
Review the Safety works/ projects & site visits executed by the Channel team/ WHS field team
Helmet adherence score- data evaluation
Analyse zone pecific Incidents being punched and highlighting to the POCs to take action against the station on adopting reporting and quality reporting
-Connect with safety POC and take update on Campaign activities, Safety performance, check if any safety commodity/ PPE required, Give feedback on Near Miss quality.
2. Metrics specific deep dive and derive action plan to avoid reoccurring.
3. Validate training requirements from Learning Gurus
4. Enable peak safety preparation first mile and last mile functions.
5. Engage partners through regular connects
Create and execute Partner Communication- Training, campaign on safety
5. Ensure emergency preparedness of partners - Evaluate monthly mock drill report
- Experience leading multiple direct reports or multiple sites
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 5+ years of team management experience
- 5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production or service operations experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Post Graduation in EHS
- Nebosh Certification
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor course
- Experience of managing in a regional and national role for manufacturing, chemical industry
- Experience in warehouse management and e-commerce shall be preferred
