Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform inventory management tasks including pulling and issuing of materials, restocking lab areas, transferring materials between the sites and with 3PL’s, quarantining nonconforming inventory, and performing pertinent transactions in ERP.
  • Ensure the integrity of the inventory by verifying item number, description unit of measure and bin location. 
  • Process and record corresponding transactions accurately and timely in the ERP system.
  • Work collaboratively with the other team members to drive team success.   
  • Perform weekly and monthly cycle counts for internal and external audit purposes. 
  • Assist in root-causing the count discrepancies.   
  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding the established cycle count accuracy and scrap rate targets.
  • Follow Kanban system to replenish inventory in proper quantities to avoid interruption of lab workflow.
  • Fulfill emergency material requests.
  • Communicate with the planners when items are found low or out of stock.
  • Perform physical inventory counts at year ends, which may require to work over the holidays.
  • Maintain the inventory area tidy and presentable.
  • Resolve internal customers’ concerns or dissatisfactions.
  • Ability to backfill when the receiving coordinator is out of the office, to ensure the continuous flow of inventory.
  • Identify areas of improvement and work collaboratively with other departments to drive resolution.
  • Follow Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.
  • Take responsibility for safety in the immediate work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager, supervisor, or lead.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED. One-year certificate from college or a technical school is preferred. At least one year of inventory control experience in a biopharma (preferred), distribution, or manufacturing environment. Knowledge and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems, Spreadsheet, Word Processing software, Google and Outlook Office suite.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Excellent math skills, utilizing sound judgment and reasoning capabilities to resolve problems. Effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to communicate, both orally and written, in a professional manner. Good computer skills to complete warehousing transactions with the ability to operate effectively within multiple software applications and inventory systems. Experience in utilizing ERP software, preferably Oracle Cloud Strong organizational skills. Proven problem-solving skills. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to use manual and electric pallet jack.
