Job Description:
IONβs Corporate DBA Group supports over 2000 database instances across multiple RDBMS and NoSQL technologies for both production and non-production environments, hosted within IONβs Hybrid Cloud. We are seeking a dedicated Database Administrator to manage end-to-end database issues and ensure standards are maintained across regions and companies. Our diverse database platforms include Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, NoSQL databases, and cloud proprietary databases such as Aurora, RDS, and Azure SQL.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer Oracle databases (versions 12c/18c/19c/21c/23ai) on-premises & cloud with good exposure to AWS RDS.
Support database installation, configuration, monitoring, housekeeping, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
Good Understanding of Oracle HADR Solutions (RAC, Data Guard, etc).
Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
Utilize Shell scription, Python, Ansible and other automation tools effectively.
Maintain a solid understanding of Linux Operating Systems.
Possess good knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
Understand hypervisors and storage subsystems.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database designs.
Ensure data integrity and security by implementing best practices and compliance standards.
Provide on-call support for critical database issues.
Offer L1/L2 support for other database technologies, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Sybase, and MySQL.
Required Skills & Experience:
6+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration.
Strong knowledge of Linux Operating Systems.
Proficiency in Shell Scripting or Python for automation.
Proven experience in delivering large-scale projects.
Demonstrated experience working in enterprise-scale environments.
Desirable Knowledge:
Oracle Certification to OCP Level.
Experience with database migration and upgrade projects.
Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Proficiency in one additional RDBMS (preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL).
MongoDB administration skills are an added advantage.
Linux administration skills.
